Old Friends

I met my childhood friend Jörg from Germany. Remembering my beautiful days in Sande was great. We met in Las Vegas, next day we went to the Hover Dam and drove around Lake Mead. What a beautiful day we had.
The two skinny guys, reuntied after 30 years! - Not so skinny anymore ;-)

What an engineering marvel! Just east of Las Vegas is the spectacular Hoover Dam

Last Race Of The Season

Now we have a long winter ahead of us until the first race next year in May. This season we joined the SCTA Club, 'Milers' and met lots of nice people, of course we gained lots of experience too. Our best official time was 116.345 MPH, we are pretty happy with the result, even though we had the potential to do better. After the '56 Triumph project, the racing bike "Kursed" will go through a complete rebuild including new design sheet metal components. The new 2012 Kursed V2 build will be published here after April, our goal is to have the total redesigned racing bike ready for Bonneville Speed Week August 2012.

Norton 16H Front End

This one belongs to the "Redesigning The 1956 Triumph" project. It is a very nice heavy duty pre-war girder with rebound springs that i'm reconditioning.

The threads are fixed, some rust has been taken care of and new 26 TPI nuts installed. Next i will need to make some friction plates and then it will be totally striped/cleaned and ready for paint.

Revving up to 6800+ in the 4th Gear.

The new rebuild gearbox and the sprocket combination worked well. Honestly, at the end of the video I rolled off the throttle seeing it was still revving up, I figured i had enough for the day..

Final Ratio?

Rebuilding a different ratio gearbox..

Large sprockets are cool, only if you have the hp though..

Now we need to test the bike with the new handlebar design and gears.
